Here are Boss and Frida and they are truly best friends. They love to play with each other and just be together. Unfortunately, we have found out that they love to run off together! On Christmas Eve they ran off for about a day and half. Gracie and I were so upset including my husband, he adores Boss. We have raised him and brought him out to NM from CA and if we lost him, boy he would be upset, so we were sad this Christmas. Well ,they decided to come home finally. We think they just got lost in the hay fields at night cause if you go down there at night, you will run into about a thousand rabbits! All they could do was run after all of them so no telling where they ended up. lol After about a week back home they decided to run off again, during the day. We went everywhere trying to find them. In the meantime our neighbor came up my father's driveway to ask if he had two black and white dogs. Well my dad said yes. Well the neighbor said they just tore up my cat and we are off the to vet!!!! yikes!!!! We knew it was our dogs!!! In the few months that we have had this new dog Frida we have found out that she hates cats and she will eat them! Our neighbors are not to happy with us. What to do!!! :( Looks like goodbye to Frida. I hate to have to tie up dogs all day long cause you cant trust them from running off and killing the cats around us or any other farm animals. We do have baby goats and lambs and chickens which she has killed before (about 5 of them). Here they are below looking at the goats patiently. yum yum they say! Bad!

Aw hon - I so sorry!! I had a heeler I had to get rid of for the same reason. It's so hard to do! Huge hugs!
Two of our dogs always run off together too. We live literally in the middle of nowhere, so having them disappear all day sometimes was never a big deal UNTIL. . .
They decided to head down the dirt road, then down the county road road, then over the bridge. . .
to the highway.
So now, because getting rid of either one of them is not an option at this point (even though I'm half tempted sometimes!) I've been playing shuffle the dogs- one is in while the other is out, one gets kenneled while the other is free. . .
Darn dogs!
I hope you find a solution to your dog troubles. I know it is a difficult situation. . .
Best of luck!
Bummer about the cat-attacking dog. Did the cat owner want you to pay vet bills? That happened to someone I know.
I like Melissa's idea of keeping one dog kenneled at a time, perhaps that would keep them close to home and out of trouble?
They are pretty dogs, love the black and white collies!
That is tough! I have a cat killer. He's a rat terrier and hunting is what he was bred for. Luckily the two cats he killed were strays. Plus he's kept in our yard so any cat that crosses the fence is fair game. I know that sounds awful, but.... We have a friend that breeds kelpies like the one hubby got for Christmas and he just had one of his dogs attack another dog in town, but his was leashed and the other wasn't and when the owner tried to get him to pay the vet bills he said no way because my dog was leashed. After that they never asked again.
I feel for ya, maybe you can fence an area around your house and see how that works?
Aww, I'm sorry, that is too bad. My two dogs ran off a lot until finally we managed to get their pen escape proof. It hasn't happened since.
I'm sorry you'll have to get rid of her :(.

We have a new puppy and dang it she they doesn't climb straight up the chain link fence, and taught our other dog how. Right now all we have is horses so we aren't worried about them killing anything but the highway is near by. Love the pictures of your daughter and the baby animals too cute!
